Marí Mayans: the licuor of Ibiza

Marí Mayans: the licuor of Ibiza

Today I am going to talk about one of the excellent products of Ibiza. A drink that everyone should try when visiting the island. I am talking about the famous drink Hierbas Marí Mayans.

This brand was created in 1880 on the Formentera, by Juan Marí Mayans. Today Bartolomé Marí Mayans and Carlos Marí Mayans run the current distillery. They represent the 5th generation of this family, whose innovative spirit seeks to carry the Ibiza brand and its products all over the world. The brand brings together 90 percent of the market of the different types of traditional liquors of the island. The whole process of this product is made entirely in Ibiza, from the collection of herbs, to its distillation and maceration, until the bottling of the drink.

In order to innovate, this family has decided to change its image. The traditional glass bottle with the image of Es Vedrá has evolved and the first luminous bottle under the name "Surfing Black Edition" has been presented. One of the main features of this new bottle is that its label, located in the lower front part, emits a shiny effect when it´s illuminated. This edition is designed to improve the experience of the "Hierbas Familia Marí Mayans" with innovative products and without changing the original recipe. The claim of the company is that the brand of the island reaches party halls and discotheques around the world, with the dual purpose of being enjoyed and served as an object of decoration.

"Surfing Black Edition" is also inspired by the exclusive bottle shaped as a typicla payesa woman. The distillery has patented this atypical shaped bottle and this made Hierbas Familia Marí Mayans, the first Ibiza brand to distribute a package designed exclusively with a non-proprietary format. This design has been redesigned to adapt to all sizes. The bottle will soon be available in all formats, as well as in different international tourism promotion fairs. In addition, for special events and for collectors, a new Magnum container of three liters will be presented.

To the famous herbs must be added other drinks: Frígola, Palo liqueur and a variety of absinthe. Also three years ago the IBZ Premium Gin and Svedra vodka was launched.

This liquor began as a digestive for the locals and has gradually evolved and seduced the new generations that have taken it from the town bars to the dance floors, becoming a different alternative to the usual alcoholic drinks or cocktails. Without changing its flavor in more than a hundred years of existence, it has managed to give an authentic touch to the most cosmopolitan nights and has its space in the most exclusive bars.

In this way, it has dazzled the palates of the best DJs in the world who, enjoyed it so much, that wanted to export it to the United States. A few years ago, you could find the typical drink and brand on a twelve-meter sign on the facade of the Space nightclub in Miami, out of pure coincidence. North America completes an already long list of European countries that already enjoy the taste of Ibiza at any time.

And you, what are you waiting for to try this delicatessen?

Salt Fair II Edition

Salt Fair II Edition

Hello everyone!

Today I am going to tell you about an event that took place a few days ago and that allowed me to know a little more about the heritage and culture of the salt industry of this island that I love! Who said that in autumn there is nothing to do in Ibiza?

The II Salt Fair was a free activity, that submerged us and made us remember a tradition was the main source of the Ibizan economy until the 50s and that represents the first industry of the Pitiusas.

During 3 days different activities were organized: workshops, theater, exhibitions, Ibicencan gastronomy tastings, audiovisual projections, presentation of a book dedicated to the history of salt and a concert with poetry by Lina Tur in honor of Ses Salines. A program in which the children had a special role as they were part of the different workshops where they learned, among other tasks, how salt is collected manually.

One of the most outstanding activities of this Fair in 'L'Era de l'Antic Munt de Sal', was the lighting of a "fogueró". You are wondering what this is. It is a bonfire that was lighted and warned through its smoke, the workers ,of the villages that the collection began. A group of salt workers represented the extraction of salt manually in the Natural Park of Ses Salines d'Eivissa, one of the most amazing places in the Balearic Islands and a true paradise, protected since 2001. One of my favorite places in Ibiza!

Located in the natural park is the Interpretation Center, the old salinera of Ses Salines, re-converted into a contemporary art gallery. This was the selected place for the edition of the 18th century manuscript "Salinas de las islas de Yviza y Formentera", by the authors Antoni Ferrer Abárzuza, Miquel Frontera Serra and Antoni Tur Torres was presented. An enclave that also became the space for different projections that explained the history and tradition that revolves around the salt. Visits to the Torre de sa Sal Rossa were also organized, showing the protected old salt jetty, or the 'Pou des Carbó', an 18th-century well that supplied water to the railways that transported the salt from the ponds to the cargo area.

Visits to the Torre de sa Sal Rossa were also organized, showing the protected old salt jetty, or the 'Pou des Carbó', an 18th-century well that supplied water to the railways that transported the salt from the ponds to the cargo area.

During the fair, I was able to learn about the different uses of salt like as a preservative of bones, olives and fish. I could even taste "ossos amb col", a traditional dish based on salted pork bones with cabbage. The folkloric group of Sant Jordi de ses Salines represented the traditional dance and the so-called "Salpassa" was staged too. This ritual was done by the parish priest, who blessed the houses leaving at the door: rosemary , water and salt for protection.

A fair that, in its second edition and after the success of the first, aims to recover the importance that salt has had and still has on the island of Ibiza. To inform about the history that surrounds this industry and that for centuries was one of the most important in the Mediterranean. Without a doubt, the fair has achieved it. See you in the next post!

Getting around Ibiza in a luxury and sustainable vehicle is possible!

Getting around Ibiza in a luxury and sustainable vehicle is possible!

Do you imagine driving around Ibiza in a luxury car that is a hybrid? Don’t imagine it anymore! The first Porsche Cayenne S-EHybrid has landed on the island!

A few days ago the rent-a-car company Luxury Green Cars, presented to more than 100 people, the first high-end vehicles 100% hybrid of Porsche brand. This event took place in the art gallery P | Art Ibiza.

This is the most innovative model of the Cayenne family. A hybrid that doesn’t lack dynamism, since it is capable of reaching 245 kilometers per hour and suitable for all occasions. Its autonomy, up to 38 kilometers, makes it perfect for Ibiza. There are already several points to recharge the car and after two and a half hours it is recharged and prepared to continue discovering the island.

Each Porsche E-Hybrid model has 5 driving states: electric driving, combustion engine driving, boost driving, gliding and recovery, which are automatically activated as required. This way, this concept of future-oriented traction unleashes its full potential in any situation.

Its precise lines of design make it very clear: it is a sports car with character. The sporty proportions of the sides accentuate its dynamics, as well as the particular aesthetics of the tires. This impression is confirmed by the daytime running lights with four standard LEDs, the rear LED lights and the exhaust pipe.

A brand that has always tried and managed to distance itself from the rest, now responds to the demand of Ibiza's most demanding drivers who are seeking to match their two passions: sportiness and the future.

Touring the island and doing it in an ecological way is another handicap to visit us. What are you waiting for? There is still a lot of summer to enjoy!! Contact Ibiza Luxury Travel now!

Vi cool restaurant opening party

Vi cool restaurant opening party

Ibiza is already full! Not just only people, events too. My agenda is full and I love it!

A few days ago the restaurant VI COOL IBIZA by Sergi Arola inaugurated a new season. Chef Sergi Arola currently owns a Michelin star, in recognition of his way of interpreting and elaborating traditional Spanish cuisine in LAB, his restaurant in the town of Sintra. Mr Arola was born in Barcelona. He started working on the team of Ferran Adrià in the restaurant El Bulli, to now run his own restaurants around the world in cities like Lisbon, Paris and Sao Paulo.

VI COOL is located in the Hotel Aguas de Ibiza and on Saturday managed to gather over 500 people who didn’t want to miss the reopening of this famous place. The guests could taste some of the new features of their new menu.

Sergi Arola, who accompanied the guests throughout the night and shared the novelties of his philosophy of cooking, said that his final claim is “to make trendy again traditional tastes with his personal style, but not forgetting the essence." So, the traditional re-interpreted tapas of patatas bravas, the mini squid sandwiches on black bread or the tuna tartar, caught the attention of everyone. The guests recognized and valued the technique that seeks to recover the best products with a personal touch, "without disguising its essence ".

Chef Sergi Arola delights in his space at Hotel Aguas de Ibiza with a complete menu where all the flavors of Spain and the Mediterranean can be found. Among the most original and appetizing tapas are:  the Iberian secret carpaccio with Idiazábal oil, piparra, Parmesan and Granny Smith or the tuna tartar with wasabi and aji mayonnaise, avocado and tobiko roe.

Arola's salads are always a dish to go for and the restaurant reinvents them this season with new and varied ingredients.

Another plate that stand out on the menu, because its singular elaboration is the chicken wings with kimchi sauce and Chinese chives. A culinary selection that is complemented by a careful selection of wines chosen by its own sommelier. VI COOL has also an extensive cocktail list that, faithful to its style, surprises and delights because of the exceptional combinations. Stop by and try the Ibiza Sling, Romero and Juliet or the Atomic Gin. All of the above reasons turn this restaurant into the perfect place for a simple and informal meal, full of intense flavors, enjoyed in good company in one of the most emblematic places of the island.

In addition to the restaurant, for the cocktail-lovers, there is also the Vi Cool Cocktail Bar. Located on the roof of the hotel and with exceptional views of the bay of Santa Eulària. This space blends innovative styles, boat decoration with other more local elements such as ceramic tiles on Huguet style floor. It is an ideal space to enjoy the sea breeze savoring an exquisite cocktail .

The terrace opens its doors uninterruptedly from 12,00 pm to 2,00 am. The restaurant's schedule is from 19.30 to 1.00 h.Who can resist the offer of leisure that Ibiza offers?

Are you ready for a new summer season in Ibiza? The island is totally on fire! One year more it will surprise you.

There are many gastronomic proposals that you will find, but there is one that is something more than just that. I'm talking about Sublimotion, the world's first gastronomic show. Chef Paco Roncero, one of the leading representatives of the culinary avant-garde in Spain, started this project in 2014. This technical and creative innovation is translated not only in a style of cuisine, but also in the way of offering and understanding gastronomy as a unique sensory experience.

Located in the Hard Rock Hotel Ibiza, it opens this new season combining the most advanced technology with the teamwork of great professionals and Spanish leaders in gastronomy, staging, music, art, design, technology, magic...

Sublimotion is a show created to thrill all 5 senses, an experiential journey unlike anything else you have experienced before ... A total immersion in the creative process of the Chef and his team, that will transport you to a new and surprising scenario.

In Sublimotion, 12 guests gather around the same table to taste a menu during 3 hours. 25 professionals will be working so that the client enjoys through the palate and the rest of the senses.

For 2017 Paco Roncero has assembled a kitchen team formed by the chefs Dani Garcia, Diego Guerrero, Toño Pérez and the pastry chef Paco Torreblanca, forming a team with 8 Michelin stars.

The musical direction will be in charge of Alfonso G. Aguilar, composer of soundtracks with a long history in Los Angeles, who will design a musical repertoire that intensifies the emotions and awakens high-gastronomy to the diners.

Jorge Blass, the most international Spanish illusionist, will bring all his knowledge and experience to surprise and get the audience excited and ready to enjoy with all their senses.

In the field of visual arts, illustrator Juan Carlos Paz "Bakea" brings a sweet edible story told through one of his appetizing characters ... A gastronomic scene as novel as exciting, that unites for the first time two major disciplines: illustration and baking. This original combination will have extra ingredients: a choreographed service, an overhead projection and a soundtrack.

DJ and music producer Wally Lopez will bring the essence of the night in Ibiza to a show that does not forget that this island is part of its origin. It will recreate the islands night scene by intertwining the sound prism of electronic music with high gastronomy.

Undoubtedly, this year’s new experience will be the most “Sublimotion” of all. The combination of augmented and virtual reality applied to gastronomy, radical changes of scenery that will allow us to leap into the more avant-garde future or submerge us in the cabaret of the early 20th century...

Sublimotion awaits you in Ibiza.

Fashion Revolution Day Ibiza

Fashion Revolution Day Ibiza

How are you? I am delighted to tell you about what’s happening on the best island of the World. The season is almost starting and you can already feel the summer energy.  It’s time to start planning the holidays so, how about thinking what will put in your suitcases for your trip to Ibiza? I’m sure that you will get some ideas after reading this post.

Last April 24th around 300 people enjoyed an environment sustainable fashion show that also supports fare trade. Where was it? At Abel Matutes Boulevard.

Under the name of “Fashion Revolution Day Ibiza” this catwalk of ethnic fashion had the main objective of demanding  consumption of sustainable designs and raise awareness about the bad buying habits of the globalized world.

The event was organized by the government of Ibiza and the fashion Adlib brand Etikology by Nanou Couture. Ten designers with their companies based on the island participated. Should be mentioned that this special event was also organized in over 70 countries around the world.

The brands Adlib Etikology by Nanou Couture BSF Man, Tania Jeans, Espardenyes Torres and K by Kose-Kose Priveé were part of the catwalk. A fashion show which exhibited so-called "Slow fashion". There were also shown creations of other designers like Mammisi Miusutin, Organic Cotton Colors, Beatriz Constan and Factor Tree.

The white color, main protagonist of this event, was combined with denim or colored patterns.

Fashion Revolution Day commemorates the death of 1138 workers after the collapse of the Rana Plaza factory in Dhacca, Bangladesh. An event through which initiatives have emerged with the purpose to  raise awareness to the population about the origin of their belongings, the meaning of excessive consumption or the range of possibilities that opens up to promote sustainability.

To create garments where there is scarcely fabric waste and endow them with a value in favor of sustainable consumption are some of the goals that the designers of this fashion show will continue to struggle with. And you? Which piece will you keep?

Las Dalias Hippy Market

Las Dalias Hippy Market

Welcome to the marvelous oasis of color, peace, music, dreams…

This is the way Las Dalias welcomes us. This is a place that had to be in the news section of Ibiza Luxury Travel: the iconic hippy market of Ibiza. As in a few days, many people will enjoy the Easter holidays. I have thought that this may be a perfect plan. Not only because everything can be found there, also because the unbeatable atmosphere!

The history of this market started in 1954. It designed as a road bar for Sant Carles neighbors. Joan Marí was the one who opened the doors of this place that in the beginning was used for weddings, baptisms and celebrations.

It was in the late 60's and early 70's that Las Dalias became the meeting point for both, native islanders and people from outside. The hippies created in Las Dalias an atmosphere of coexistence that would be the seed of what has become subsequently the market.

In 1985 the gallery owner Helga Watson and the son of the founder, Juan Fernando Marí, opted to create there a space to accommodate artistic creativity. And so they started with 5 stands, where they offered hand-made crafts of young European and American artists. Currently there are more than 200 stands that can be visited.

But the offer of Las Dalias does not end here: to the stands must added the gastronomic variety, musical and other leisure proposals. The market has a restaurant whith international cuisine fusion, tapas, natural juices and a Berber haima to taste teas and sweets from Marroko. I love to walk around the stands with a natural lemon slush in my hands!

In Las Dalias you can breathe in the hippy philosophy of the 60's: good vibes and good energy.

Las Dalias is the heaven of hippy-chic fashion and boho style. You can always find Adlib fashion, fringes and flower crowns. Complements with a unique design thanks to the hand of the craftsmen. Also native and natural products.

And you know the best? It is open all year round! It is located at Km 12 of Sant Carles road.

This Easter Week it will open from Thursday April 13th to Sunday April 16th, from 10 am to 7pm. What better opportunity to immerse yourself in the universe of Las Dalias?

I was in the inauguration last January 6th and I assure you that I didn’t stop laughing and dancing.

The Project was brought up by an events company called Sons of Ibiza. The owners, René Patrick and Miriam Artinian, are also friends of mine. The idea started when they wanted to use one of Pacha famous rooms and transform it into a little Parisian or New-yorker theater from the 1920’s, where they used to fuse gastronomy, humor and music.

Rene and Miriam defined “Los Viernes (Fridays)” as a day of “fun, good food, good vibes and the best energy”. They consider that Fridays in winter have become into an escape a blow off for residents, after all week working : I don’t think there is nothing better than laughing or singing  to get out the accumulated stress.

The offer of “Los Viernes” consists to sum up in the same place: dinner, performance or show and music. Until May 12th while you´re tasting delicious dishes of chef Víctor Martínez , you will enjoy listening funny monologues or live music. Then re-known Dj´s of the island will play the best tracks for you to dance until your body can!

The beginning of this new event was last January 6th and  3 great Spanish comedy artists: Ismael Beiro, José Boto and Javi Sancho started the evening . They were followed by other comedians like: Meugenio, Romeo Arret or The Flaming Shakers,  a group who made versions of “The Beatles” greatest tracks.

“Los Viernes” are a therapy for the public. The event has much work behind it. The positive feedback from people is the best reward for Rene and Miriam and a satisfaction for a job well done.

The gastronomic proposal is: a menu with first and second plate, plus a dessert. You can choose two options with two prices: the first is, without beverages which costs 42€. The second  includes a bottle of water, half wine bottle and coffee and costs 55€.

All is delicious! Meat, sushi,“huevos rotos” (eggs with potatoes)…  I get hungry just from remembering!!  Add to this a good atmosphere and you have a complete and perfect evening!

Other Friday evenings will have artists performing like: Quique San Francisco, Toni Moog or Andreu Casanova (famous for stage play “50 shadows of Andreu). Also a famous mentalist will appear. He is going to blow your mind.

Approximately a 1000 people have enjoyed already “Los Viernes” at Pacha Ibiza Disco. Dinner and show in an emblematic place like Pacha.  And you?  What are you waiting for? You will leave from there with a big smile and full of energy!

Happy New Year!

How were your Christmas holidays? I was some days in my city, Santander, in the north of Spain with all of my family. I suppose you spent the days with family too.

The calm times continue on the island. In my opinion too much! But the businesses that remain open during winter always organize events for residents.

In this occasion I will show you another place you should visit if you come to Ibiza. In the last post I spoke about the originality of La Masion d’Elephant. On this, I carry on discovering a place for you, full of uncommon and very remarkable things.

Last January 7th I took my camera and went to Sluiz in Santa Gertrudis. Its entrance catches by surprise everyone. Why? Because off the blue cows that welcome the clients at the entrance of this bizarre place.

Sluiz is a shop with a lot of different kind of articles: furniture, kitchen accessories, decoration elements, clothes… always with an eccentric and eye-catching touch that let you wander hours and hours between its aisles.

I love going there because you always find something that marks the difference with the rest of shops around here: because of the color, shape or the naivity of the creators when they made it. Can you imagine having a feline shaped light, a huge white dog sculpture or a rebel gnome showing you his middle finger decorating your home? Yes, it’s possible in Ibiza!

Sluiz is divided in a few areas: when you enter you find all for home decoration. I assure you can lose your mind! There are so many particular and colorful things that you want to have it all.

To me the novelty this year was an area on the second floor dedicated to gastronomy where you can find wines, tea and typical Spanish and European products.

On this floor, we find a zone where the kitchen is the main theme. There are plates, glasses and all the kitchenware to give a happy, funny and different touch to your home.

Fashion has also a place in Sluiz. For all tastes. The most eccentric garments are combined with other more classic to reach all publics. You will find some clothes that will leave you with your mouth open.

Besides, I choose this day to go to Sluiz because they organized a Vintage Fair with articles for retro lovers.

This is not the only activity they do. During winter you can enjoy other events as Ibiza Food Factory, Glitter Bingo or Sluiz Country BBQ, where gastronomy is the star. It’s important to know that Sluiz has a restaurant and coffee bar and some terraces decorated in Ibiza Style. There you have the opportunity to have a drink while you’re shopping.

There are 3 Sluiz shops in Ibiza: in Santa Gertrudis (the biggest one), the outlet which is situated in Sant Josep Road and the last one open in downtown.

Remember that when you come to the island it’s a must to visit this classic place.

La Maison De L'Elephant

La Maison De L'Elephant

I’m back again with a place that I feel like showing you! Not only because IT is the perfect place for extravagant and breaking edge art for design lovers. The place surprised me a lot and you’re thinking why.

I was anxious to enter in La Maison de L’Elephant, mainly because during the season I could see how a lot of tourists and curious people stopped at its door to take a picture with the enormous metal figures that decorate the entry: two robots, an impressive Hulk and a T- Rex. But, what else did it hide inside?

I had imagined in its interior hall I would find other surprises, but I never imagined it would be that much! It is a flashy and extremely attractive place. We could say that it is a lifestyle concept based on the fusion of different styles, periods and trends subjected to interior design.

It’s a concept store with 3200 square meters, organized in 3 floors, where you can find designer furniture and decorative elements that are truly unique.

Spectacular animal statues in color, luxury sofas that cost more than 30.000 €, chairs full of stuffed toys, original photographs and colorful art works are some of the pieces that are shown in La Maison de l’elephant.

Every single product is thoroughly chosen by Bruno Raymond. their stock and furniture comes from all over the world. Ethnic or modern, La Maison de l’Elephant constantly innovates creating contrasts between styles to invent new harmonies.

The place traps you because it is amazing and brutal attractiveness and the good taste in exhibiting the pieces. Definitely the part that I like best ir one on the groundfloor separated in two zones decorated in different ways. When you dive in the black one, you feel like if you were in another place. The atmosphere created in this space devours you and you don’t want to escape from there. It’s really sensational how through art, decoration and music you can let yourself go into a world of sensations it is a difficult feeling to explain.  Can you imagine creating something like this in your home?

La Maison de L’elephant not only gives you the possibility to take the exposed furniture and art, it also gives you the opportunity to create the best ambiance in your house. In the recent years they have worked designing houses, discotheques and beach clubs.

Are you motivated to make your particular Maison? I will have to wait! My apartment is too small. Although, it may have a space for the pink elephant ;)

Practicing Surf in Ibiza is possible!

Practicing Surf in Ibiza is possible!

Hello World!

Everything OK? The calm has arrived to Ibiza. You can’t imagine how great it is now!  The residents thank for these months of peace and quiet. Beaches are empty and the weather is great, but I have to recognize that I miss the summer.

I am with my particular summer 2017 countdown and this is why today I would like to talk about an activity you can practice from April on. Prepare your calendar!

Surf Lounge Ibiza is an amazing place for surf lovers and also perfect for beginners. What better way to start surfing as doing it on an artificial wave? It’s for all ages also! It is fantastic to enjoy a fun family holidays.

The place, with more than 3000m, is situated in Camí des Molí 10 (Sant Antoni).

The same space blends in a sportive and tourist resort where you can practice sports and mix it with gastronomy, chillin’, pool, hammocks and more than 30 Bali beds.

Its main attraction is the Flowrider. It has a maximum capacity of 20 people per hour. The space divides into two surf lines, for 10 people each. The surfer is always supervised by one of the instructors, to ensure that the experience is as good as possible.

The riders choose between two activities:  Body-board and Surf.  Body-board is perfect for beginners to start on the flow boarding. Lay-down position or get on your knees. The minimum height is of 1,10m.

For surfing, the style and posture are the classic one: raised position. The minimum height for this activity is 1,30m.

In Surf Lounge Ibiza they offer other activities too. Thanks to a strategic situation, it is possible to make many other aquatic activities using the Surf Lounge facilities as a meeting point. Some of them? Paddle surf, flyboard, speed boat 360 or jet skies.

The restaurant, situated between the surf zone and pool, is the perfect place to start with power the activity or to get the best reward after surfing.

Carrying on with the current gastronomic trends, the menu of this original restaurant is focused in blending in classic Mediterranean dishes with a pure Asiatic touch. Another option is to order specific gastro-menus. They can adapt them for groups and are especially thought for leisure or business events.

During the season, Surf Lounge Ibiza organizes different events, as its known” Rock on the wave festival”, with mini concerts of local rock bands or open air cinema sessions. Next year the European Flowboarding Championship will be based in the Surf Lounge Ibiza one more time. An appointment where the best riders will take part, looking for a place in the final of the world flowboarding championship. It will be the third time that Ibiza is chosen to host this event.

Isn’t it a fun plan for 2017? Save the date: Surf Lounge opens its doors on the 1st of April.

Space Closing: the end of an era

Space Closing: the end of an era

October 2nd, Ibiza lived one of the most important and emotional days of the last years.  The legendary discothèque Space organized its Closing Party after 27 years on the island.

No one wanted to miss that special date: not only in the history of electronic music, also for all the faithful devotee’s of this discotheque, that from the beginning, took part of the concept which revolutionized Ibiza with its after hours parties in the 90’s.

At 4pm Space opened its doors. There were already a lot of followers standing in a row to enter the last great party of this season 2016 and the last day of Space.

In the three authorized zones, Flight Area, Main Room and Terrace, the music didn’t stop thanks to a line up of 119 national an international re-knownDJs. All of them have been playing in Space during the last 27 years: Carl Cox, Stewe Lawler, Sasha, Eric Morillo, Wally López, Camilo Franco, Iban Mendoza…

The party started in the Flight Area, an emblematic zone created for openings and closing parties.

The Main Room, characterized by its perfection of sound, was the place for the end of an era. DJs, artists and a gospel choir made of this closing a date to remember.

After 20 hours non-stop music (Space doors closed on October 3rd at 12pm), the legendary Carl Cox and the owner and founder Pepe Roselló closed the last sesion.

Whoever has enjoyed a night in Space knows what this goodbye means. Space is not only a disco.  It’s a brilliant, vibrant and exceptional concept. A place where you could feel the music and where you didn’t stop dancing.

2017 in Ibiza without Space will be different. Platja d’en Bossa, where it was, will be definitely different too. And from Ibiza Luxury Travel we will continue informing you about all!

I have attached a link with a Space video that is worth to see:

It was a pleasure to take part of this Club’s history that now is a legend!

Gran Hotel Montesol

Hello everybody!

Today we’re going to dive into the history of the island through one of its most emblematic establishments: Montesol Hotel.

Founded in 1933, Gran Hotel Montesol Ibiza was the first hotel built in Ibiza and it has been declared of cultural interest by UNESCO.

Since last July, it has reopened its doors as a 5 star hotel, completely remodeled while maintaining the aesthetics and essence of always.

The hotel is situated in a key point of Ibiza’s center: Vara de Rey. Its beautiful beige and yellow facade in the neocolonial style, calls everyone’s attention.

Through the hotel have passed well know and famous people such as Orson Welles, members of Pink Floyd or the mythical Caroline of Monaco. It's a great pleasure to walk around and enjoy its new image! I think that elegant touch is necessary in some parts of the island.

The exclusive hotel is the first property that Hilton Worldwide has on the island. Gran Hotel Montesol Ibiza is part of the Curio brand of Hilton Worldwide, a hotel chain of distinguished exclusivity and luxury that has expanded quickly and seeks to attract passionate travelers who demand authentic and local experiences.

There are 33 rooms that have been decorated by the well-known interior designer Lárazo Rosa-Violan. The number of rooms that offer views of the old town and the harbor has increased.

The warmth of these rooms thanks to the new design make the clients feel at home.

But these are not the only changes. The classic Café Montesol, located on the ground floor of the hotel, has become the center of social life on the island.

This venue that has a capacity of 300 people is known among the residents as a place of exchange and meeting. There you can enjoy the Spanish Mediterranean cuisine, as well as other gastronomic cultures and different typical tapas. This bar is the perfect place to relax while having a drink or a cocktail.

On its terrace, one is carried away by the continual coming and going of tourists and residents who stroll along the boulevard of Vara del Rey. Here you feel the cosmopolitan character of the island.

The best of all is that both the Gran Hotel Montesol and Café Montesol are open all year! So there are no excuses not to visit us in another season than the summer! See you in the next post and travel with Ibiza Luxury Travel!
