The North of the island on your doorstep


What do you think if we explore the northern part of Ibiza? I will recommend you different plans on next posts. The first one will allow you to discover this part of the island through some wanderings with a guide. Is there anything better than walking while someone is telling you what you are seeing? 

Sant Joan de Labritja´s town hall wants that everybody discovers what the less populated, greenest and wildest place in Ibiza hides. For this reason you will have available a programmed walk path calendar. Monthly you will discover different zonesas well as Ibiza’s traditions. Do you want join us? 

The routes take between 3 and 4 hours and a guide will explain the interest points where the group will pass by. The first programmed route took place on January and I could see the almond trees in blossom. Gorgeous! It was a great experience! 

The next will be on March 20th where a circular route will take youfrom Sant Llorenç to Sant Miquel walking through woods and the countryside. 

On the 3rd of April the walk will be around Sant Vicent de Sa Cala because it is the town´s celebration. They will hike up to the Talaia de Sant Vicent (hill)  and pass by the Sanctuary “Es Culleram”. On May the 21st and June 19th, the route will be at nighttime to enjoy the full moon. The first one will be from Xarraca beach to Sa Punta de Xarracó where you will contemplate the cove bathed in the light of the full moon. The second one, from Sant Joan you’ll walk up to the hill called Bollet and surrounding areas to enjoy the fantastic night-time views. 

Portinatx’s lighthouse will be the main attraction of the route of July, 16th . This month you can stroll by the coast and visit the lighthouse and the surroundings. On august (the 20th) the route will be start at the church in Sant Llorenç and take you to Balafia to enjoy a performance o the typical dance of Ibiza. 

September will bring you 4 different hikes. The first 3 ones will be organized on the 13th, 14th and 15th coinciding with the celebration of the "tourist day". Each route will show the beauty of the local beaches. 

The 4th hike will be on September 25th and will be a wandering through the famous zone of Benirrás, the place where the well known drum sessions take place. You will feel the positive and hippy spirit of the island on this path.  

In october there will be 2 hikes: the first will be on the 12th and the route will be circular. The walk will start in Sant Joan and pass through the mountain tracks and through small paths the church of San Miquel will be reached. 

The 16th of October the organizers will take again advantageof the full moon to discover the zone of Malacosta and the breathtaking views of the valley of Morna. 

November will have a circular route that will take place on the 6th. It will start at Cala d´en Serra and the people can stroll by the coast until reaching the Moscarter lighthouse. 

The hikes through the northern part of the island will end on the 6th of December. The path will take the participants from Es Canaret and give everyone the opportunity to wander through the hills of Portinatx.
