Welcome to the marvelous oasis of color, peace, music, dreams…
This is the way Las Dalias welcomes us. This is a place that had to be in the news section of Ibiza Luxury Travel: the iconic hippy market of Ibiza. As in a few days, many people will enjoy the Easter holidays. I have thought that this may be a perfect plan. Not only because everything can be found there, also because the unbeatable atmosphere!
The history of this market started in 1954. It designed as a road bar for Sant Carles neighbors. Joan Marí was the one who opened the doors of this place that in the beginning was used for weddings, baptisms and celebrations.
It was in the late 60's and early 70's that Las Dalias became the meeting point for both, native islanders and people from outside. The hippies created in Las Dalias an atmosphere of coexistence that would be the seed of what has become subsequently the market.
In 1985 the gallery owner Helga Watson and the son of the founder, Juan Fernando Marí, opted to create there a space to accommodate artistic creativity. And so they started with 5 stands, where they offered hand-made crafts of young European and American artists. Currently there are more than 200 stands that can be visited.
But the offer of Las Dalias does not end here: to the stands must added the gastronomic variety, musical and other leisure proposals. The market has a restaurant whith international cuisine fusion, tapas, natural juices and a Berber haima to taste teas and sweets from Marroko. I love to walk around the stands with a natural lemon slush in my hands!
In Las Dalias you can breathe in the hippy philosophy of the 60's: good vibes and good energy.
Las Dalias is the heaven of hippy-chic fashion and boho style. You can always find Adlib fashion, fringes and flower crowns. Complements with a unique design thanks to the hand of the craftsmen. Also native and natural products.
And you know the best? It is open all year round! It is located at Km 12 of Sant Carles road.
This Easter Week it will open from Thursday April 13th to Sunday April 16th, from 10 am to 7pm. What better opportunity to immerse yourself in the universe of Las Dalias?
